General information about the Wormhout Massacre Memorial
The serenity exuded by Wormwood Massacre Memorial stands in stark contrast to the facts that took place there on May 28, 1940: dozens of soldiers were slaughtered totally needlessly by the German Nazis. To be precise: 80 English ... and one Frenchman. On site, everything is explained in minute detail via panels. Read more about this on Wikipedia.
The memorial barn in itself is worth a visit. In the square is a mound with an orientation table on top. A work of art is also set up in the center of the park. The little pond you see also played an important role in this horror story.
