General information about Vimy Ridge - Vimy Trenches

Many know the great Canadian monument in Vimy. You can even see this great memorial from the top of Mount Kemmel. We already visited this monument several times. But what is the case now? This monument is so impressive that you are actually distracted from other things in the immediate vicinity of it. Take the "Vimy Trenches": they are perhaps barely one kilometer away from this great monument, hidden in the woods. We had already seen a plaque "Trenches" at the monument but had never been there. So now we have. Well, Vimy Ridge is worth seeing anyway. You can see around an impressive crater row and reconstructed trenches of the Germans and Canadians.

In 2017, they even built a whole new "Vimy Ridge Visitor Education Center." Nice! This center is staffed, actually staffed, by Canadian job students who come here for several months. Highly recommended!
