General information about Menin Gate
Almost every Belgian knows the Menin Gate: the gate in which tens of thousands of World War I casualties have their names carved. Every evening at 8 p.m. sharp, the "Last Post" is brought there as a tribute to these fallen soldiers. See also our page on the "Last Post" at the Menin Gate.
During 2023-2025, the monument was fully restored. Since the end of April 2025, it has been fully accessible again.

Tip 1: If you are in Ypres, be sure to visit the Cloth Hall and the Ypres Belfry .
Tip 2:Until April 2026, you can see the impressive artwork "The Hauntings" right in front of the Menin Gate. It's well worth seeing!
