Ulster Memorial Tower (Thiepval, France)
General information about the Ulster Memorial Tower
Ulster Memorial Tower is an Irish memorial tower that is not far from the much larger Memorial to the Missing. Actually, this is Northern Ireland's National War Memorial. It is maintained entirely by a group of Somme Association volunteers who take turns staying there in the tower's upper room(s). Downstairs there is what is known as the treasure room. See our 360° photo below. Nice to see. Both groups and individuals are welcomed there. There is also a small terrace provided as well as some catering.

Tip: It almost goes without saying that you should at least also check out the impressive Memorial to the Missing. Which is only a kilometer from this tower 😉.
