General information about "The Hauntings"

"The Hauntings" is a 6.5m high artwork temporarily on display at the Menin Gate of Ypres. Originally it was to be there from Oct. 7 to Dec. 7, 2025. Until on Nov. 24, 2025, came the joyous news that there will be an extension until April 19, 2026. It depicts a frontline soldier looking at the thousands of names of his fallen peers. The idea came from Englishwoman Jo Oliver. It is a welding of discarded pieces of metal. For almost 2 years, a duo worked on the artwork. Before that, the artwork was also on display in Dublin, Scotland and Antrobus House in Amesbury, England.
