General information about the Grijsloke viewing platform
Uitkijkplatform Grijsloke is one of the vantage points created within the "Horizon 2025" project of the Province of West Flanders (Westtoer). The borough is actually called Gijzelbrechtegem but is popularly known as "Grijsloke". The platform is located behind the "OC De Kleine Kluis".
Because it is not a tall tower, the panoramic effect is a lot less than what we see at the other sites within the "Horizon 2025" project. The pictures below give you an idea of what to expect. You have a view of a piece of the Flemish Ardennes from one of the highest points in the Leie region. An orientation map is provided. Especially cycling enthusiasts will recognize some names of hills, which are among others climbed in the cycling classic "The Tour of Flanders": the Kwaremont, the Koppenberg, ... .
