Buttes New British Cemetery is particularly beautiful and intimate, serene. It is also one of the few where you get a full view of the cemetery from a hilltop. There are usually significantly fewer people walking around than at other World War I memorial sites. Definitely highly recommended!

Tip 1: If you're in Zonnebeke anyway, know that there are some great sights to see: Passchendaele Museum and Tyne Cot. If you want to get a nice view of the region, climb the church of Zonnebeke.

Tip 2: A new site that has seen the light of day in recent years is the site of the Brother-in-Arms project. Beautiful memorial site with a poignant story underlying it.
