St. Gustave's Mill was once the studio of sculptor and folk singer Willem Vermandere. The mill is picturesquely located but dilapidated. It is not a flour-making mill, but rather a polder mill: it was used to drain the polders of water (the so-called "draining of the Moeren").
In 2024, a buyer was sought to give the mill a new use and the oh-so-necessary restoration. Apparently that was found because the mill is currently (Nov. 10, 2025) being restored.

Tip 1: If you happen to be in the area and you like windmills, take a look at the Sint-Karelsmolen. It is very close by and has been completely restored.
Tip 2: list of all windmills on Top.vlaanderen
Tip 3: Probably oldest windmill in Europe can be found in the northern French village of Hondschoote.
Tip 4: While you're in the area, take a look at the very old farmstead "Akkermees" in Bulskampveld. You will hardly find any others like it.
