General information about Havengeul
Those who want to soak up the fashionable, maritime atmosphere, of the yachting world so to speak, can visit the marina(s) of Nieuwpoort. The Havengeul connects the marinas with the sea/dike. She goes along the Maritime Park (where among others the Beach Festival is organized). Next to it is a beautiful promenade. Highly recommended, also for photographers and nature lovers. All maritime clichés gathered in one place: small and large(er) yachts, sailing ships, lighthouse, seals, water birds, and so on. Along the quay there are several catering establishments and many fancy new buildings. Also some beautiful works of art on display (including Beaufort).
See below some atmospheric images taken along the quay of the harbor channel. Everything is nicely made accessible for wheelchair users, strollers, cyclists, and so on. It can get crowded on sunny summer days, though. There is also a free ferry that allows you to reach the other shore. You can also see a small exhibition of the major works in progress for the flood wall. At the end of the harbor channel, from the building of the Pilotage, you also have a jetty over which you can also walk to a piece "in" the North Sea.

Tip 1: if you are by car you can park it at the Old Marina, for example. You can then walk along the boardwalk to the sea and back.
Tip 2: If you are interested in anything to do with fish, then a visit to the fish mine could be interesting.
Tip 3: If you love art, don't miss going to see Jan Fabre' s artwork "Searching for Utopia." Impressive. Also very beautiful is Nina Beier's artwork titled "Men" (it is displayed on the beach and is partially flooded at high tide).
Tip 4: If you have time, don't neglect to visit the lock complex "The Goose Paw" and the visitor center WestFront visit. Here you can already see some 360° shots we made of it.
