General information about Canadian National Vimy Memorial
Canadian National Vimy Memorial is a particularly tall and large monument in memory of all Canadians killed in World War I. Nearby there are several other memory tourism related things to visit. Literally impressive. Did you know that you can just barely see this monument from the top of Mount Kemmel : this is plus/minus some 40 km away. Talk about a view! You have a very good view of the Franco-Flemish plain with its mining basin (terrils), classified by UNESCO as World Heritage in 2012.
