General information about Cloth Hall

The Cloth Hall and Belfry of Ypres are impressive. Ypres was well known in the Middle Ages for its cloth industry. The quality of the cloth was particularly highly regarded. The Belfry, together with other Flemish and Northern French belfries, has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is normally open to visitors (viathe In Flanders Fields museum).

Currently, renovation work is still in progress on one side. Nevertheless, the result anno 2025 is already very nice. Recommended.

In the Ypres Cloth Hall, you will find, among other things:
– the In Flanders Fields Museum (IFF, 190,000 visitors in 2019)
– the Ypres Museum
– the Belfry (which can be climbed again since April 2022, via the In Flanders Fields Museum).
