France has only 12 nationally recognized botanical gardens ( "Conservatoire Botanique National" ). Few people know that one of these is very close to us namely the Botanical Garden of Belle (Bailleuil).
You can visit this plant garden of about 25 acres from Monday to Friday. More than 1,000 plant species are labeled there. There is also a separate plant garden with medicinal plants.
About 50 people work in this non-profit organization. They deal with the biodiversity of Hauts-de-France and old Normandy. Their library includes more than 50,000 works. They also have a saddle database of more than 500 species.
