General information about Hotel De Zeevaartschool
Hotel De Zeevaartschool is a fine example of a successful renovation and repurposing project involving immovable heritage: the former Hogere Zeevaartschool / Maritiem Instituut De Ruyter, where people were trained for careers in the maritime sector, has been transformed into a beautiful contemporary hotel. This institute was built in 1950-1953 to a design by architect Arend Rothuizen. The building was designated a "national monument."
The lower floors of the tower can be visited freely. To visit the tower outside, you must request permission (at the reception desk).
