The world-renowned fathers' beer is brewed here at St. Sixtus Abbey. You can buy it there on site (in the abbey itself) or taste it in the adjacent catering establishment "In De Vrede". Also pay a visit to the Mariagrot.

Tip 1: on sunny days, because it is located on a popular bicycle network, "In de Vrede" can be particularly crowded. Groups should book in advance.
Tip 2: not so far from the abbey is the animal sanctuary "De Zonnegloed". Worth a visit, especially if there are children along. Or what about the "Hop Museum" in Poperinge ? So you stay within the beer culture theme.
