General information about the Dumont neighborhood
The Dumont district is a historic residential area located between the center of the seaside resort of De Panne and the sea. A real gem, together with the historic residential area 'de Concessie' in De Haan, it is unique on the Belgian coast. It is therefore only natural that this village view has been protected as "immovable heritage." The overall design is by the Belgian architect Albert Dumont. Guided tours of this immovable heritage are organized regularly. If you don't need a guide, you can also explore the heritage walking route on your own.
During 2023 and 2024, the pavement was (and will be) completely redone. It was opted to make this neighborhood as low-traffic as possible. Compared to the past, the number of available parking spaces was drastically reduced.
Special events are organized on a regular basis. For example, the historical reenactment“Boulevard Dumont”took place on August 10, 2024. Below you will find a photo report on the event. The next edition is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026.
