General information about La Chartreuse du Val Saint Esprit
This site was renovated thanks in part to European grants. It occupies a large domain around a castle. The outbuildings house seminar and banquet halls, restaurants and additional rooms ("The Bergerie"). The castle itself houses a four-star hotel.
Was once one of the-places-to-be in terms of hotel in the hinterland of northern France. Several years ago, this four-star hotel was sold. We were still there in May 2025. Apparently a well-known wedding venue. Hotel service (reception & bar) were rather underwhelming. Breakfast could also have been a bit better considering the four-star level of the hotel. Le Vasco restaurant was very tasty and professionally run. Waiting times were very correct. There are 3 restaurants on the property. Please note that there is no elevator in this chateau hotel and certain of the restaurants ("Le Vasco" and "Le Distellerie") are outside the main building (so be sure to dress appropriately).
