General information about Brussels sprouts
Sprouts are a typical vegetable that can be seen in many Flemish fields during the winter. In addition to France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, they are also grown in England. From the 13th century onwards, they were mainly grown around the Belgian capital Brussels, which is why they are often referred to as"Choux de Bruxelles"("Brussels sprouts").
The smallest Brussels sprouts are the juiciest and most flavorful. Brussels sprout soup with bacon strips and Rambol herb cheese is legendary. Here is an example of a recipe.
