General information about Veere

The municipality of Veere is located in Zeeland, on one of the islands of Walcheren. Many sailing enthusiasts know the picturesque town of Veere because they cross the Westerschelde from Breskens and then sail through the Canal through Walcheren to Veere.

However, the municipality of Veere also embraces other places such as the popular Zoutelande (known from a 2017 song by BLOF, a cover of a German song) and Westkapelle, the village with the two lighthouses.

Tip 1: Visit all 3 locations: the village center of Veere itself, Zoutelande and Westkapelle. There is even a so-called "car beach" there: this means that you can drive your car right up to the beach itself. In Zeeland this is rather exceptional as there is always a dike.

Tip 2: You're not that far from the port city of Vlissingen there. Even there you can see the big container ships passing by on the Westerschelde. You also have there the beautifully renovated hotel "The Maritime School".
