General information about Tomb of the Giant
Tomb of the Giant is raised hill surrounded by a bend of the Semois River (also called a meander ). There is a very nice viewpoint from where you can see it well. It is one of the icons of the Belgian Ardennes.

Tip 1: Like all observation sites at a certain height, it's a cautionary tale. Some three months after our visit, in March 2024, a 47-year-old Dutchman made an unfortunate fall of no less than 40 meters while taking a photo there (see "Het Laatste Nieuws", June 2, 2024 and/or "Omroep Brabant", June 4, 2024). This despite the fact that this viewpoint is well equipped to accommodate tourists. Apparently the stones were wet and he slipped. There was no barrier at the spot where he was standing. Nothing could help: the incident thus had a fateful end.
Never go too close to a precipice: one wrong step is enough to cause a serious accident! Always try to be at least 2 when visiting such places. Your companion de route can become your last resort. "A warned man is worth two."
Tip 2: There are several so-so viewpoints on the meandering Semois River. Check out our Tourist Map. Be sure to check out the Panorama of Frahan, one of the most photographed places in the Belgian Ardennes.
