General information about The source of the Lys
The source of the Lys River is in a very small village called Lisbourg (Pas-de-Calais, France). This stream eventually empties into the Scheldt in Ghent. On February 11, 1984, the spring suddenly spurted through the street surface like a small geyser and formed a pool. It is this "little pond" that you can now go see. The water there has a blue-green-like appearance. Noteworthy. The water comes from the wet chalk layers beneath the village. There is talk of a so-called artesian well.

Tip 1: Not far from this source is the church with the twisted spire (in Verchin).
Tip 2: The region is also home to the museum on the historic Battle of Azincourt 1415.
Tip 3: If you like beautiful stained glass windows, then you can visit the remarkable and small chapel Our Lady of the Good Journey (Ecouflans, Vincly)..
