Castel Mino (De Panne, Belgium)
General information about Castel Mino
Castel Mino is an authentic castle villa on the Belgian coast. It is located in the historic Dumont district of De Panne. It was built in the middle of the Interbellum period in 1930. Although there is not really one specific architectural style, several art deco elements can be noted. Originally, a mother and her daughter lived in this large building with a living area of almost 800 m², each on their own floor. There are a total of four floors: the lower one at street level housed the chauffeur and other house staff, while the fourth floor housed the so-called "chambres d'amis".

There is a great deal of public interest in this property: for example, it was opened to the general public in September 2025 on the occasion of "Open Monuments Day 2025" (OMD) and promptly as many as 1,500 visitors showed up 😉

Tip 1: Currently you can neither visit nor book the property. Although there are plans in the direction of a vacation home or B&B, currently this is not yet in the works. Additional renovation works are awaited first. For example, the iconic exterior staircase will be addressed in the fall of 2025. In the first half of 2026, all exterior joinery will be repainted.
Tip 2: The property is located in the Dumont neighborhood. This historic district has several dozen beautiful properties. Read more about them here.
Tip 3: Not far from Castel Mino you can also visit the following interesting things: the Westerpunt, the Nature Reserve De Westhoek, the Paul Delvaux Museum, the Duinenhuis, the Abbey Museum, and a lot more.
