General information about the Arab bunker - Groigne bunker
The Arab bunker - Groigne bunker is actually a French bunker from World War I. On Google Maps, it is marked as "French-Arab bunker Grote Beverdijk." The bunker is also known as the "Groigne bunker." It was restored in 2008.
Many of the soldiers stationed there were of Arab descent. Hence the Arabic inscriptions on the Oriental-inspired interior door. The text was translated as follows: "There is no greater God than Allah. If you believe in Allah, you will triumph as in the victory over Tadmoor and Namar."

Tip 1: If you are a fan of memory tourism, we can recommend the following tourist attractions in the immediate vicinity: the Dodenganck and the Museum aan de Ijzer / Ijzertoren.
Tip 2: Also worth visiting is the bunker/observation tower of Oud-Stuivekenskerke.
Tip 3: If you are interested in large bunker constructions, then you should definitely visit La Coupole and/or the Eperlecques Bunker . At the time, they were also launch bases for V2 rockets. They are both located near Saint-Omer (France).
Tip 4: Are you a fan of viewpoints? Then you don't have far to go to the church tower of Lampernisse , which you can climb.
