Beaufort triennial (Coast, Belgium)

Every three years, a major art event takes place on the Belgian coast: the Beaufort Triennial: 2006, 2009, 2012, 2015, 2018, 2021 and 2024. The next edition is thus expected in 2027. Along the entire coastline, here and there, important works of art are/were exhibited. Mostly larger, monumental works. Nice to see. Let the photos below speak for themselves. When the triennial is over, some sculptures are purchased by the coastal city and put on permanent display. Case in point is Jan Fabre's "Searching for Utopia" (Nieuwpoort).

Beaufort's importance should not be underestimated. In 2018, for example, it accounted for as many as 2 million visitors. The eighth edition of the Beaufort Triennial, which took place from March 27 to November 3, 2024 along the Belgian coast, attracted about 1.7 million visitors.

Visitor numbers: 2 million (2018) - 1.7 million (2024).
