General information about Raversyde Atlantic Wall - Anno 1465
The Atlantic Wall was a German defense line (from World War II) built on the western side of Europe along the Atlantic Ocean coastline by the Germans to stop their enemies. It consisted of thousands of bunkers with heavy artillery. You can see remnants of this "wall" in several places in our region, including this open-air museum Raversyde Atlantikwall.
This domain also contains the home of our former regent Charles ("Memorial Prince Charles"). His modest cottage can also be visited.

Tip: This site has even more to offer than just this open-air museum and Memorial. There is another natural park and as well as "Anno 1465" , a reconstruction of a medieval fishing village (the vanished fishing settlement of Walraversijde). You save some by purchasing a combined ticket.
Please note that at this time (May 19, 2025) this sub site is not accessible due to works. Consult the website for more information.
Tip 2: Want to see a really big, very impressive German bunker and one of the largest guns of the war, visit Battery Todt (near the Cap Gris-Nez).

- 360-180° panoramic photo of one of the Atlantikwall bunkers at Raversyde - This "Battery Saltzwedel-neu" belonged during WWII to the Marine Artillerie Abteilung 204 which had several batteries on our coast.
