General information about Noordmeulen

The Noordmeulen (in ABN we would speak of the "North Mill") in Hondschoote (not to be confused with the Noordmeulen of Steenvoorde!) is, in any case, the oldest windmill in France. Possibly it is even the oldest mill in Europe: inside the mill are indications dating back to the 12th century. Restored by the French government, this stake mill is classified as a "Monument Historique". Every first Sunday of the month, an outbuilding hosts demonstrations on weaving.
