General information about Ghent Center
Ghent Center has one of the most attractive, historic city centers in Flanders. There is still a medieval city center. Together with Bruges, it is a real frontrunner in this regard. There is a lot of real estate heritage to be seen around the "Leie": a cathedral, many churches, a belfry, old cafes, you name it. There is also plenty of shopping.
The center of Ghent is not recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, its carillon (along with all other Flemish Carillons) is.

Tip 1: Be sure not to miss the St. Bavo's Cathedral Cathedral. And if you have some extra time, be sure to see the masterpiece "Lamb of God" on display there!
Tip 2: Ghent can get very busy during the high season. It is best to book tickets in advance if you want to avoid long queues. If you don't have a ticket, you may have to wait an hour or more before you can visit the Gravensteen, for example. Sint-Baafs is free to visit, so there are no queues, but if you want to see the "Adoration of the Mystic Lamb," it's best to buy a ticket online in advance. For photographers , spring or fall may be a better time to visit.
