Mers-les-Bains (Somme, France)

If you like nostalgia, be sure to visit Mers-les-Bains, Le Tréport's sister village. It is in the Somme Department, Picardy Region, while Le Tréport is in the Seine-Maritime Department in the Normandy Region.

Many places call themselves "unique" but this seaside town may well call itself "exceptional." More specifically, the protected quarter filled with authentically restored, colorful vacation homes of the "rich Parisians of yesteryear" captures the imagination. Not only on the seawall do you see these original houses, also in various streets giving onto the seawall you can find them. A true delight for the eye and pure nostalgia. Definitely worth a visit!

Tip: If you are a real lover of historic coastal villas, you can also go to the picturesque Dumont neighborhood in De Panne or in "The Concession" (De Haan, Belgium).
