Mers-les-Bains (Somme, France)

Hou je van nostalgie, ga dan zeker een kijkje nemen te Mers-les-Bains, het zusterdorpje van Le Tréport. Het ligt in het departement Somme, Regio Picardië, terwijl Le Tréport in het departement Seine-Maritime in de regio Normandië ligt.

Many places call themselves "unique" but this seaside town may well call itself "exceptional." More specifically, the protected quarter filled with authentically restored, colorful vacation homes of the "rich Parisians of yesteryear" captures the imagination. Not only on the seawall do you see these original houses, also in various streets giving onto the seawall you can find them. A true delight for the eye and pure nostalgia. Definitely worth a visit!

Tip: If you are a real lover of historic coastal villas, you can also go to the picturesque Dumont neighborhood in De Panne or in "The Concession" (De Haan, Belgium).
