General information about the Alprech Lighthouse
Alprech Lighthouse is located just outside the center of Le Portel (near Boulogne-sur-Mer). It is 17 meters high and dates from 1962. It is not possible to climb it.
Next to it is an old fort: Fort d'Alprech. You can walk around there. Nice viewpoint.

Tip 1: You are not far from Equihen-Plage. This fishing village is known for its very large, natural beach and the upturned boats that the poor fishermen of yesteryear used as roofs for their simple homes: the so-called Quilles-en-Aire.
Tip 2: Head to the dike at Le Portel . There you will see a large statue of Mary in a flobart (a typical fishing boat on the Opal Coast).
Tip 3: Of course, a visit to the large city of Boulogne-sur-Mer is a must: it is home to the largest aquarium in Europe (Nausicaa), the beautiful basilica with crypt (the largest in France and with remnants from the Roman Empire), a fisherman's cottage that you can visit (House of the Beurière), the school museum, and so on.
