General information about The Light Tower of Calais
The light tower/lighthouse of Calais is the successor of a lighthouse that used to stand not far from it. The tower is more than 50 meters high and you have to go up along 271 steps if you want to reach the highest point. This tower can be visited (5 EUR entrance fee - June 2023). At the top is an observation platform where you can see the entire landscape and port of Calais. Downstairs, in the former home of the lighthouse keeper, a small exhibition space has been created. Worth a visit.

Tip 1: Not far from this Calais lighthouse, the "Escale à Calais" event takes place every year. Perhaps a visit can be combined?
Tip 2: The whole city of Calais is under the spell of "dragons." Be sure to go discover the mechanical art dragon on Calais beach. At the end of 2025, it will even have a dragon as a companion.
